Let us begin by introducing you to Rachel and her family.  Rachel's parents, Gina and Chuck Potvin live in Willimantic, Ct and have for the past 20 years.  Rachel and her parents have faced multiple challenges, including Cerbral Palsy, Low Vision, and Mental Retardation.  Rachel is 21 years old and has brought much joy to her parents life and also to her sibling, Jodi Parent, and all members of her family.  With much respect for each Gina and the journey she has taken upon herself to raise Rachel at home for all these years.

There are several events held through the year to help raise monies for Rachel and Cerebral Palsy.  One of them being an annual tag sale/swap meet which is in its 2nd year.  We didn't do to bad with the tag sale, but the swap meet has yet to catch on.. We hope to do better in the following years.

We have also sold candles, and had fundraisers to help raise money also.

The biggest event is Rachel's Annual Poker Run. It began 5 years ago and is going into its 6th year strong.  It began with Jodi Harrison, Rachel's aunt at Jodi's Place in Mansfield, Ct .  The purpose of the run for the first 4 years was to assist Rachel's parents, Gina and Chuck, with the supplies needed to keep Rachel at home that were not covered by insurance.  Rachel's Run holds a  non-profit staus in the state of Connectiuct.  We have enjoyed the run with over 200 motorcycle riders in the past and hope that every year it grows.  We ride in the beautiful countryside of Northern Connecticut over 98 miles.  We have been escorted by the Connecticut State Troopers on motorcycles, volunteering on their day off. At the end of the ride we all go to the French Club in Windham, Ct to enjoy music, raffles and food.  We hope that by reading and logging onto our website we can see you at the next annual Rachel's Run.

We invite you to visit us or attend an event. Our members are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the organization and how you can join.
